Good morning investors! 📈
The market has already done the easy part.
After a late-March selloff tied to the US-Iran conflict, the S&P 500 has surged back to record highs in one of the fastest rebounds on record. Investors have largely decided that geopolitics may not get much worse from here.
Now, earnings need to prove they were right.
This week matters because the rally is no longer just about Nvidia, Microsoft, or AI headlines. Nearly one-fifth of the S&P 500 is set to report results, including Tesla, Boeing, UnitedHealth, Intel, GE Aerospace, ServiceNow, and Freeport-McMoRan.
The bigger story is not whether companies beat estimates. It is whether leadership continues broadening beyond mega-cap tech.
Industrials, healthcare, utilities, energy, and materials are quietly doing more of the heavy lifting than many investors realise. If those sectors deliver strong guidance, the rally can continue to expand.
If not, markets may start to question whether stocks ran too far, too fast.
